From Lillehammer to New York

On August 15, 2026, I participated in the exhibition Women Beyond Borders III at Times Square in New York, organized by Art Queens Gallery.
For the third consecutive year, the gallery took over the screens at Times Square to highlight female artists from different parts of the world.
Additionally, the exhibition was shown in the Art Queens metaverse Gallery.

NÆRVÆR
I chose to send NÆRVÆR to New York.
NÆRVÆR is inspired by moonlight and by the feeling of being close to someone—not necessarily physically, but on a deeper level.
It is also a painting that means a lot to me personally. It is inspired by something my grandmother always used to say: "Take a walk in the moonlight to keep love alive."
And I must admit, I find it quite beautiful to think that a small piece of her—who barely ever left the country—got to travel all the way to New York. 💙
The curator’s critique of NÆRVÆR
In connection with the exhibition, NÆRVÆR received its own curatorial review, which was published in the exhibition magazine.
It is deeply touching to read how someone else perceives a painting that I have spent so many hours working on myself.
Art Queens Gallery
Art Queens Gallery is an international curatorial platform that works to highlight female artists and give them opportunities to be seen in new contexts.
They organize exhibitions in several places around the world and also work with digital exhibitions, catalogues, editorial features and international visibility.
Women Beyond Borders is part of this work.
The exhibition brings together women from different parts of the world and explores how art can cross borders – between cultures, experiences and stories.
