From Montmartre to Carrousel du Louvre

On October 23–25, 2026, I’m heading back to Paris. This time, my art will be exhibited at Carrousel du Louvre.

Earlier this autumn, I had the opportunity to participate in an art exhibition in Montmartre, Paris, and it was a wonderful experience. Sending my art from Lillehammer to Paris and seeing it become part of an international art scene was something I truly had to pause and take in.

And now I’m returning to Paris.

This time to Carrousel du Louvre, where the international contemporary art fair Art Shopping takes place from October 23–25.

Paris has always been a city I associate with art. That makes it even more special to be part of its art scene – as an artist from Lillehammer, Norway.

My art is travelling

I create abstract and intuitive art. I work with acrylics on large canvases, using colours, light, contrasts and textures as my starting point.

I rarely know exactly where a painting will take me when I begin. Sometimes it starts with a colour. Other times, with a feeling, a mood or something I’ve experienced.

Perhaps that’s exactly why I love abstract art so much. I don’t have to explain everything.

When colours express what words cannot.

That’s also what I hope my art can do for those who see it. Evoke a feeling, make room for personal reflection, or simply offer a moment of calm.

From Lillehammer to Paris

When I look back on the past year, it’s almost hard to believe how much has happened.

My studio is still in Lillehammer. This is where I paint, experiment, make mistakes, start over, and sometimes find myself standing in front of a painting, wondering where it came from.

But my art is beginning to travel.

First to New York. Then to Montmartre in Paris.

Now to Carrousel du Louvre.

And that makes me feel proud, grateful and a humbled.

Because behind every painting that travels out into the world are many hours spent alone in the studio. Many layers of paint. Many decisions. Sometimes frustration. And quite a lot of faith that what I create might mean something to someone else, too.

Carrousel du Louvre

Art Shopping is an international meeting place for contemporary art, bringing together artists, galleries, collectors and art enthusiasts.

Being part of this means a great deal to me.

I don’t know where this journey will lead. And perhaps I don’t need to know just yet.

Right now, I’m simply looking forward to sending my art on another journey.
