This is probably the question I get asked most often: “What size should I choose?”
Many people are afraid of choosing a piece that will feel too large. In reality, the opposite is often the case. Most people end up choosing artwork that is a little too small for the space.
Here are a few simple tips to help you find the right size for your wall and your home. 💙
The picture is too small
A piece of art doesn't necessarily have to fill the entire wall, but it should be large enough to get the attention it deserves.
A small picture on a large wall can quickly look lonely and disappear into the room.
Therefore, it is often wise to choose a little larger than you first think.
When is a small size appropriate?
A smaller art print works well:
On shelves
On a chest of drawers or sideboard
On smaller walls or a limited part of a larger wall
As part of a picture wall
A 25 x 25 cm art print can be a good choice if you want a discreet touch of art or want to combine several images together.
When is a medium size suitable?
A medium size is often the safest solution.
A 40 x 40 cm art print is suitable:
Together with several photos
On smaller walls or smaller rooms
This size is large enough to be visible, without dominating the room.
When should you choose a larger picture?
If you have a larger wall, a larger art print can create more peace and balance in the room.
A 60 x 60 cm art print works well:
Above a sofa
On larger walls
Where you want a clear eye-catcher
A larger picture can often bring the room together in a way that several small pictures cannot.
One large picture or several small ones?
There is no one-size-fits-all answer.

My best advice
If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.
